Rose McGowan has been awarded in the media several times for her unique signature style - most notably in 2007 by Us Weekly and in 2001 by E!.
One of the most fashionable stars of the year in 2007 by Us Weekly
Back in the day, Rose McGowan broke the fashion curve with her Goth goddess style, but these days, it’s all about her vintage vixen appeal.
Female Fashion Breakthrough of the Year 2001 from E!
Back in 2001, Joan and Melissa Rivers named their Fashion Dream Team and Rose won the Female Fashion Breakthrough of the Year award. She was up against Renee Zellweger and Joan Allen. Here is her speech from E!:
Melissa Rivers: So Rose, we're here on the set of Charmed today to present you with the Female Fashion Breakthrough of the Year. Rose McGowan: Thank you so much! Melissa Rivers: Now you have given us through the years a... Umm... Range of looks. Rose McGowan: Nice way to put it, yes. Melissa Rivers: Like that infamous chain mail dress... Rose McGowan: That was beaded. Melissa Rivers: That was beaded. Rose McGowan: That was beaded and it was only for the red carpet. You can't sit in it, no-no... Melissa Rivers: I was going to say... Rose McGowan: ...You would get griddle butt. And girls know, it's like in the summer when you're wearing those cute shorts and you sit on a chair and you get up and you have those lines, not a good look, no. Melissa Rivers: So what inspired that dress? Rose McGowan: That was... Actually it was inspired by Carol Lombard... Melissa Rivers: Really? Rose McGowan: Who... I'm kind of a bit of a prankster, and so was she. And I was reading a biography on her, and she had gone to a premiere at the Mann Chinese Theater, and everyone... All her publicists, "Where's Carol, where's Carol." And this old ambulance rips up the red carpet, people dash out of the way, and they pull her out. And she's lying on a stretcher with just white tape on her bits and pieces. So I decided it would be kind of a super funny prank. I didn't quite understand the concept of electronic media, and that it would be there forever. I just think... I didn't think it through. But I still thought it was funny, and I still think it's funny. Melissa Rivers: And it launched you right into the stratosphere, as people started watching you fashion wise. Rose McGowan: Well, you know, when I'm 85 I'll be like nice tokes, as you would say. [looking into camera] Joan, I like you. I like your style. Big fan, have been for years.
