Charmed - Paige Matthews
Season Four

In the magical world, Paige Matthews existence was unknown to many. Even in the real world her biological parents, Patricia (Patty) Halliwell a good witch who lived in San Francisco, and Sam Wilder, Patty's Whitelighter, and Patty's mother, were they only ones to know what Paige really was.

Paige was the the result of a forbidden relationship, where a witch and a whitelighter not only became lovers, but concieved a child. The outcome of this clandestinity of a child meant that Patty and Sam had to give their child up. On August 2, 1977 Patty and Sam left the newborn baby with a nun, Sister Agnes, at a local church, fearing repercussions if the child was ever discovered. They left the baby with a blanket and asked that her name start with a 'P', like all women of Patty's immediate family

The baby was named Paige, and adopted by the Matthews family. Her father was somewhat strict, but always loving, while her mother was more reserved. She has a large unknown extended family, but always felt like an outcast. She did see her adoptive parents as her true parents, but was always curious about her biological parents. In her teenage years she became rather rebellious, staying out all night, partying with friends, skipping classes.

One day, the three of them were in the car driving home, when they were involved in a car crash. Her adopted parents died, but she unknowingly saved herself from that accident by orbing out of the car. Not knowing what happened or how she survived, Paige took it hard and reached a turning point in her life. She stopped drinking and started to do well in school.

After graduating high school, she got into Berkley due to a really strong essay on the death of her parents. After her schooling was finished she took up a post at South Bay Social Services, as an assistant Social Worker. A few years later, Paige attempted to track down her biological family. She learned of the church at which she was left. She checked around and suspected she was related to the Halliwell sisters, but somehow never approached them about it, being that their mother had died.

Season Five

When Prue Halliwell died, Paige felt magically drawn to the funeral. This was because Piper Halliwell cast a spell to "Call a Lost Witch" in an attempt to bring Prue back, but unwittingly cast the spell on Paige. While giving respect for Prue, Paige spoke to Phoebe Halliwell and shook her hand, giving Phoebe a premonition of Shax (the demon that killed Prue) killing Paige. As Pheobe worked to save Paige, she and Piper learned that Paige was actually their half-sister.

Soon after Paige learned of her destiny. She discovered that she was half Whitelighter and half Witch, a revelation she was quite angry and confused about. Her attitudes changed though when her new family saved her from the Source turning her evil. Paige begun to embrace her new powers and her destiny of the newly reconstituted Charmed Ones.

Paige then started her witch training. She learned potion basics under Piper, but when practicing a potion she accidentally created a spell that swapped her soul with Phoebe's. Although they tried to keep it a secret while they swapped souls back again, they had to confront the evil Zen student Yenlo trying to kill his former master. They traveled to limbo and defeated Yenlo after swapping souls back.

While her witch training took up most of her time, Paige still found the need to help people. She continued her job as a social worker, even helping a woman named Carolyn regain custody of her child after getting out of an abusive relationship. Paige used magic to help Carolyn. Paige got promoted for her work with Carolyn, but had to turn it down for fear of using her magic for personal gain. Paige shortly after this started practicing orbing herself over distances, a task she would master in a few months time.

Season Six

In 2002 Paige naturalizes somewhat to being a witch, she resigned from her full time career and turned her attentions to full time witchcraft, determined to play catch-up on her more experienced sisters. Sometime later though, the Elders decided to assign Paige her first "Charge", who was actually Sam Wilder, her biological father. The Elders used Paige because Sam had fallen off their radar, and the only way to find him was through a blood relative. Paige did not know of Sam's connection to her when she meets him, until Phoebe told her. When a darklighter attacked Paige, nearly killing her, Sam once again embraced his whitelighter destiny and used his powers to save Paige. Though Paige resented Sam for abandoning her, she still loves him and hopes to see him again.

When Paige tried to vanquish Cole, Paige had wound up in the river with a cold. Whenever she sneezed, she orbed. When Cole managed to change reality, Paige was caught in the warp, and was transported to the alternate reality. Paige was able to reunite her sisters to vanquish Cole, for good, and Paige was returned to her reality, and informed her sisters that Cole was gone forever.

Paige eventually decided to stop being a full time witch and started taking on temp work. In this capacity she came across innocents to help in most of her positions. In one of her temp jobs, Paige is traumatized when her boss, Larry, was killed by demons. Her sisters try to assure her that they cannot save every innocent, but Paige was convinced that she failed to save someone she was meant to help. At Richard's suggestion, Paige summoned Larry's soul. Larry revealed that he made a Faustian Deal with a demon named Zahn – Larry sold his soul to Zahn in exchange for Zahn giving him financial success. Larry insisted that Paige return his soul to Zahn so that the demon does not harm his wife, but Paige was determined to save Larry. Because of lack of support from her sisters, Paige turns to Richard who encouraged her to follow her instincts. Paige summoned Zahn and offered him a deal: in exchange for Paige selling her soul, Zahn will release Larry into his afterlife. Before Zahn could sell Paige's soul, Richard told Piper and Phoebe what Paige had done and they stormed of to Zahn's auction. Piper managed to destroy Zahn's Faustian contracts which sets all of the souls he had acquired, including Paige's, free, and the sisters vanquished Zahn.

Season Seven

Realizing that there was not much excitement in her life and that Magic School was about to be closed, Paige decided to dedicate her time to saving it, as well as teaching the students the values and responsibility of magic. In doing that, the Elders had made her the headmistress of Magic School. During this time Paige had a romantic interest in Agent Kyle Brody. She had allowed him to know a lot about the magical world as they would exchange information about what they knew about the Avatars.

Agent Brody was killed, but Paige learned that he was okay and had become a Whitelighter when he travelled back to see her briefly. Since Paige was getting tired of being cooped up in Magic School and Leo was turned human Piper and Phoebe thought it was a good idea that Leo took over Magic School. After the death of Agent Brody though, Pauge and her sisters become fearful of there lives. A new evil power had risen and threaten their very existance. Not only that but the FBI were tracking their every move. After the demon was vanquished, the sisters had to change their appearances to ward of the FBI, inevitably lead to both the real world and magical world to believe that they were dead.

Undertaking new identities mean that the Charmed ones had to keep a low profile, particularly in the magical world. They were acting as if they were living the lives they always wanted, but this was not to last long. Demons were plotting to take over the Halliwell manner, and still the FBI were investigating them. The sisters had to make a choice, and going back to these lives was essential in order to continue they're witchly destiny. The FBI worked with them in order for them to come back, saying that the sisters were under witness protection and had to fake their deaths in order to capture criminals.

Season Eight

At this time Paige recieved her first full time charge, Billie Jenkins. Billie was a new comer to witch craft and became close to all of the Halliwell sisters. Not only did they train Billie but also fought side by side with her. When Paige recieved more charges, she met her future husband Henry Mitchell. Henry worked as a parole officer and Paige's charge was a future Whitelighter who was in trouble with the law. Paige and Henry hit it off rather quickly, and soon after Paige revealed to Henry that she was a witch. He in fact took it quite well, but became protective of Paige.

Paige's charge Billie was a somewhat mysterious character and revealed to the sisters that she had a sister who was kidnapped by a demon when she was young. Just before Paige and Henry were to marry, Billie's Sister, Christie, was found and more mystery was abound. Christie was infact turned by her captor, and was plotting to turn Billie as well, and destroy the Halliwell sisters. In the end Christies plan did not work and her and the demons she was working for were vanquished.

The future for Paige is an untold story. What it known though, is that Paige and her sisters live fulfilling lives. Paige and Henry have a fairy tale with their 3 children, all while Paige continues her work as a Whitelighter.
