Sypnosis
When radio talk show psychiatrist, Dr. Sonny Blake, moves back to her hometown, she takes notices of her neighborhood paper boy's unusual behavior.
Of Rosewood Lane, writer-director Victor Salva describes the film "as a jump-out-of-your-seat thriller in the tradition of my favorite terror in suburbia film: John Carpenter's Halloween."
Rose McGowan's Role
Rose McGowan plays radio talk show psychiatrist, Dr. Sonny Blake who moves back to her hometown and upon arrival, she discovers the neighborhood is terrified of the local paperboy. Her character thinks its ridiculous, until she encounters the boy himself, and learns the hard way, that he is a cunning and dangerous sociopath, who may have killed her father and even others. When he starts to exhibit abnormal abilities, Sonny starts to doubt her own sanity and the boy begins waging a war of terror on her.

Quotes: Rose McGowan
• "That was an interesting dynamic, because Victor had never done a movie with a female lead, and he was uncomfortable. He really doesn’t relate to women well. He was open about that, which was slightly jarring, because I don’t really know what to do with that information."
• Regarding Victor Salva's registered sex offender history
"Yeah, I still don’t really understand the whole story or history there, and I’d rather not, because it’s not really my business. But he’s an incredibly sweet and gentle man, lovely to his crew, and a very hard worker."

Phillip B Goldfine on Rose McGowan
"Rose fully embodies the lead character and with her strong cult following I can see audiences as they enjoy watching the horrific experiences her character goes through."
• Victor Salva on Rose McGowan
"The role of Sonny Blake needs an actress who can walk a line. Who can find a balance between strength and courage and fear and vulnerability — I think Rose has a wonderful way of demonstrating each of these qualities, and we have seen that in her work.
It made her a terrific choice for the lead in Rosewood Lane, because Sonny is someone who has come from a childhood with a lot of fear and violence and has decided as an adult to be strong, to persevere and to help others through their trials and struggles.
The wonderful dilemma in Rosewood Lane, is that as she rises to a position of power and authority and one of healer — what she encounters in her old neighborhood, sends her reeling back to the days when she was a frightened little girl.
As she struggles to do battle with a dark force that on the surface isn’t ever supposed to be dark or dangerous — Sonny finds herself not only fighting for her life, but questioning her ideas about reality, and ultimately: good and evil. I think Rose McGowan is a great choice for this multi- dimensional role."

From Killer Film
"Rose McGowan, who began her career in the fright flicks
Scream and
