Sypnosis
In Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, Austin's hottest DJ, Jungle Julia (Sydney Tamiia Poitier), sets out into the night to unwind with her friends. Covertly tracking their moves is Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell), a scarred rebel leering from behind the wheel of his muscle car, revving just feet away. As the girls settle into their beers, Mike's weapon, a white-hot juggernaut, revs just feet away.

Rose McGowan's Role
Rose McGowan has a smaller role in Death Proof as Pam, an angelic looking, blonde haired sassy "little hippie chick". She's been stood up and ticked off, and she needs a ride home. And Stuntman Mike is there to give her one hell of a ride!

While her role in Death Proof was small, Rose McGowan did a magnificent job at diversifying Pam from Cherry Darling. While both ladies are saucy and sexy, Pam was much more of an innocent angel than the tough, 'muck it up' Cherry. Rose gave some snappy dialogue and was a joy to watch. Kurt Russel and Rose's chemistry where dynamite on screen. One could compare the roles of Pam in Death Proof to that of Tatum Riley from Scream which came out 10 Years earlier - both roles had so much in common. Two sassy and very funny blonde ladies meet their fate in the hands of a serial killer. It was also another great film from Rose's arsenal of diverse film credits.

Quotes: Rose McGowan

"The whole experience was completely schizophrenic, but in the best way."

"In Death Proof I play a girl named Pam, and I actually had to lobby real hard to get that part. I went through the audition process while working with Robert, and went on to read several times. When I got that part, I pushed to make Pam blonde, and Quentin met with me on that one. Pam has a very iconic death scene, if I do say so myself."

On Cherry & Pam
"They were extremely different. Quentin and I had talked about Pam being blonde; I felt that because her face gets hurt just a little bit, I wanted her to look really soft and angelic. Whereas I wanted Cherry to have more of an exotic feel, with pale skin, black hair, and red lips. It’s kind of like working from the outside in: They both needed to have really strong, separate identities; making Pam look soft was key to the character. The roles were equally fantastic in completely different ways, and obviously it’s anybody’s dream to do two things like that back-to-back—it was like having two different amazing meals."

On working with Quentin Tarantino
"I felt like I was a bit of pop art – it's like being Andy Warhol's soup can. He's got this dialogue running in his head, and it's very specific. If you just get his cadence down, which is almost literally the cadence he speaks in, he leaves you alone."

On Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino
"They're about the coolest people you could ever hope to work for."

On Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino
"Quentin's style is a more controlled insanity, and Robert's is really quiet and focused because he's got so much going on. He's shooting it and then he's editing it in his head, and then he goes into his rough edit on a playback machine. It was very funny because Quentin and Robert use the same crew. So everyone was very quiet on Robert's set and then a little wild on Quentin's set. I guess it's just that you take on the personality of the captain of the ship."

Quotes: Her Character

Pam: "Is that cowboy wisdom?"
Stuntman Mike: "I'm not a cowboy, Pam. I'm a stuntman."

Pam: "Why would someone who doesn't drink spend hours at a bar, drinking water?"
Stuntman Mike: "You know, a bar offers all kinds of things other than alcohol."
Pam: "Hmm, really. Like what?"
Stuntman Mike: "Women. Nacho Grande platters. The fellowship of some fascinating individuals, like Warren here."
Pam: "Fair enough. So what's your name, icy?"
Stuntman Mike: "Stuntman Mike."
Pam: "Stuntman Mike's" your name?"
Stuntman Mike: "You can ask anybody."
Pam: "Hey Warren, who is this guy?"
Warren: "Stuntman Mike."
Pam: "And who the hell is Stuntman Mike?"
Warren: "He's a stuntman."

Pam: "So how exactly does one become a stuntman?"
Stuntman Mike: "Well, in Hollywood, anyone fool enough to throw themselves down a flight of stairs can usually find someone to pay them for it. But really, I got into the business the way most people get into the stunt business."
Pam: "How's that?"
Stuntman Mike: "My brother got me in it."
Pam: "Who's your brother?"
Stuntman Mike: "Stuntman Bob."

Pam: "Take a picture, it lasts longer."
Stuntman Mike: "What?"
Pam: "That table. Seems to keep them getting your attention."
Stuntman Mike: "Is that the girl from the billboard outside?"
Pam: "Yup."
Stuntman Mike: "She sure is a striking looking woman. Look at that hair."
Pam: "Lots of leave-in conditioner."
Stuntman Mike: "Is that jealousy I detect?"
Pam: "Hardly. But if you wanna get with Jungle Julia, there's a real easy way to do that."
Stuntman Mike: "Yeah? And what would that be?"
Pam: "Get famous. You won't have to find her, she'll find you. And you don't even wanna know what she did for that billboard. Enjoy it cocksucker, you've earned it."
Stuntman Mike: What did she ever do to you?"
Pam: "We went to school together, from kindergarten to high school, that's what she did to me. She was her height right now at twelve. She was a monster! Half the guy she still fucks from the old class she used to beat up and terrorize in the fifth grade."
Stuntman Mike: "And I see she used to beat you up and take your chocolate milk."
Pam: "That pituitary case might've kicked my ass a couple of times... Sorry, I'm built like a girl and not a black man, but I'd die before I ever gave Julia Lucai my chocolate milk."

Stuntman Mike: "Well Pam, which way you goin' left or right?"
Pam: "Right!"
Stuntman Mike: "Ah, that's too bad."
Pam: "Why?"
Stuntman Mike: "Well, because there was a 50/50 shot on whether you'd be going left. You see, we're both going left. You could have just as easily been going left too and if that was the case, it would have been awhile before you started getting scared. But since you're going the other way, I'm afraid you're gonna have to start getting scared...immediately."
