Talk about dedication: Running downstairs to meet her trainer, Rose McGowan broke her left foot – but finished her workout anyway.
“I thought I’d kept my trainer waiting too long downstairs, so I was running and my foot just hit the edge of the doorway,” the former Charmed star told People Thursday at Cannes’ annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS dinner. “It just happens to be stone and that didn’t work out well! But I did not miss my workout. I stuck ice on it, did my upper body, and then went to the hospital.”
McGowan’s black cast was mostly hidden beneath her floor-length Dolce & Gabbana gown.
“The doctor thought I was crying because I was in pain but I told him it was because I have to go to Cannes and I refuse to wear flats,” McGowan said (lifting up her skirt to show the cast on her left foot and a Sergio Rossi heel on her right). “Tonight I put padding beneath the cast and now it’s the same height as the heel. Genius!”
The accident happened about two weeks ago, and she expects to be wearing the cast for another month.
Rose McGowan turned heads at the amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS 2008 benefit gala held at Le Moulin de Mougins during the Cannes Film Festival tonight. She wore a stunning organza fifties-fantasy ball gown by Dolce & Gabbana. Both Mycah and I agree that this is one of Rose’s best looks to date! Very original and beautiful!
amfAR, the Foundation for Aids Research, is dedicated to the support of prevention of infection, treatment education and sound Aids-related public policy.
We’ve added the first photos from tonight’s event. Hopefully many more will come soon!

Candids from May 19 have been added. Rose was spotted in Beverly Hills, California, still nursing her broken toe. Poor Rose! Get well soon!
Also, as reported earlier, we told you Fifty Dead Men Walking was being marketed at Cannes and today we have learned the film has gotten a distribution deal with company Handmade. The agreements states it will have major theatrical distributors throughout the world so hopefully this means the film will not only premiere in the UK later this year but other countries as well. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Lisa has contributed a stunning photo to the Retrospective Book (1995) photoshoot set. I have personally never seen this specific shot before so I was just ecstatic to receive it as the set is one of my all time favorites. It was published in the 100 Bettina Rheims Photos for the Liberty of Press magazine and is titled “Rose McGowan falling from a wet bed, Los Angeles, October 1995.” Again, huge thanks to Lisa for scanning this to us. Please log in / register to view.

According to reports, Rose will attend at least the following events this month in Europe:
• May 17 – The Life Ball (Vienna)
• May 22– amfAR Cinema Against Aids (Cannes)
50 Dead Men Walking will be marketed at the Cannes Film Festival so it is likely that Rose will attend a dinner or promotional event of some sorts. Just wait and see. We will be bringing you all the coverage!
Update: Rose did not attend the Life Ball, apparently due to her broken toe. Rest well, girl!
A few days back I’ve added a set of candids of Rose and Linda Ramone outside Madeo restaurant in Los Angeles on Saturday evening. I really adore Rose’s cute dress and it looks like they had a good time!

I’ve added 13 HQs and Mycah added 13 MQs of the event that Rose attended yesterday, the Women In Film Luncheon Honoring the lovely Ginnifer Goodwin, an actress known for her performance in Big Love. Here’s another little article from WWD.com regarding the event, which tells us that Rose wore Max Mara and confirms that she indeed has a broken toe. The brave girl looked really lovely, despite her injury.
Not surprisingly, many of the attendees wore Max Mara, including Goodwin and McGowan, who was wearing an orthopedic boot due to a recently broken toe. The actress sported one pink Manolo Blahnik and was determined the injury wouldn’t impede her choice of footwear.
“My doctor said I’m only allowed to wear heels that match the height of the medical boot. I think I’m going to put a platform on the bottom of it before I go to Cannes and Vienna so that I can wear one Louboutin with it,” she laughed.
Rose went to a new event. Pictures will be added tomorrow. Now, check out this article from E! Online, where Rose talks about her injury, says that her dog Fester has a brain tumor and asks everyone to pray for him. Poor Fester. Our thoughts are with him and Rose! Rose also mentions that she’s jetting off to Europe and will attend a couple of events, including the annual amfAR gala in Cannes.
Rose McGowan has more important things to think about these days than the possibility of the actors’ strike. Like a sick dog.
Fester, one of her two Boston terriers, has a brain tumor. “He’s 11 years old, but five weeks ago he was jumping in the air,” McGowan told me at today’s MaxMara and Women in Film luncheon honoring Ginnifer Goodwin at the Sunset Tower Hotel. “I’ll get to spend more time with him [if the strike occurs]. For now, we all have to say a prayer for Fester.”
McGowan, herself, isn’t in the best of shape either…
She had to limp her way through the fete, because her left leg is in a brace.
It appears that our klutzy lady has had an accident as she was snapped leaving the Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills with her foot in a cast on Tuesday. Poor Rose, here’s to hoping that she’ll feel a whole lot better soon. Get well wishes from all of your fans!

I have been really busy at university these past few months so I have a lot of older but very neat stuff piled up that I need to upload to the gallery. I’ll start by adding five pictures of Rose on the set of 50 Dead Men Walking. Check out the stunning scenery – and especially this adorable picture of her goofing around! So cute! Full credit for these goes out to Veronique! Thanks so much.
Keep your eyes peeled at the last uploads to see everything I’m adding and make sure you log in to see some rare and lovely candids!
