Project Spotlight

Dawn (2014, short drama)
Directed by Rose McGowan
Starring Tara Barr, Reiley McClendon and Hannah Marks

"Dawn is really about what we do to young girls unwittingly, and how we send them out into the world completely unprotected, in a way that has, at times, really tragic consequences. Being polite at the risk of your own internal voice of danger being silenced is a pretty dangerous thing."

There had never been any talk of director Marcus Nispel’s Conan (working title) reboot being released in 3-D, so it was surprising when the Nu Image production company updated its site with a Conan poster containing a “3-D” tag on it. Nu Image quickly took down the poster, replacing it with a poster without the 3-D tag, which left many scratching their heads about the meaning of it all.

Recently, Conan star Rose McGowan has updated her Twitter status with confirmation that Conan will be released in 3-D.

Yes! I’ll be projecting into the audience!

When Nu Image updated its site with the 3D-tagged poster, it also added this official synopsis of the movie:

After his father is murdered and village destroyed, Conan ventures into an unforgiving world where he survives as a thief, pirate, and warrior. On his path of wanton adventure and women, Conan chances upon the warlord responsible his tribe’s destruction. As he tracks Khalar Zym, Conan battles monsters, Zym’s henchmen, and Marique, a powerful witch.

Based on the classic sword-and-sorcery character created by Robert E. Howard, Conan also stars Jason Momoa, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, Bob Sapp, Leo Howard, and Rachel Nichols. The movie is currently in post-production, aimed at a 2011 release.

Yesterday evening in Washington, DC, the USO’s 2010 Gala was held. Rose McGowan, who earlier this year participated in a leg of the Entertainers Tour, attended. Rose wore a white, floor length strapless gown. The look was the epitome of elegance – absolutely gorgeous! McGowan looks as if she’s stepped out of the 1940s.

Rose McGowan said the best trip of her life was visiting U.S. troops in Afghanistan this spring on a USO tour.

“I love getting down and dirty. I was covered in Afghani silt and I couldn’t have been happier.”

“I like tough people with mettle, strong spines.”

She also encourages other celebrities to visit U.S. troops in Afghanistan. While they may be afraid of making the trip,

“…any vacation you’ve ever had at any beachfront locale will be a topped by this in a heartbeat.”

Pictures from the event, as well as candids from the day before of Rose at the Washington airport, and her personal Twitter photos have been added.

Update: Many of the MQ sized photos have been replaced with high quality versions. Enjoy!

News & Rumors
Article written on October 1, 2010 by Mycahe-mail

Broadway World just reported that Rose will be taking part in The 2010 Gay Days at Disneyland starting today, October 1.

The 2010 Gay Days at Disneyland presented by Undergear are set to take place Friday, October 1 to Sunday, October 3. For its 13th year, the event is expected to attract more than 30,000 LGBT park-hoppers from California and all over the country.

The weekend opens Friday, October 1 with Wonderland, a dance party with DJ Ray Rhodes (Tiger Heat, KBIG 104.), hosted by Los Angeles drag diva Momma. And just added: Rose McGowan will host the VIP Lounge. The event, which benefits The Trevor Project, runs from 9:30pm-1am at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen located in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort. Tickets are $20 at the door.

Gay Days Anaheim is a “mix-in” with the park’s other weekend guests, but gays and lesbians are encouraged to wear red shirts in order to identify each other and to show strong numbers. Official T-shirts are available at the official Gay Days at Disneyland website. Note: Gay Days Anaheim is NOT a Disney-sponsored event so Disney will not have any information regarding the “unofficial” happening.
