I have some excellent news to bring this morning! PRWeb is reporting that Rose McGowan, along with Patrick John Flueger and Peter Bogdanovich, will star in the upcoming film adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story The Tell Tale Heart. We are happy to report that Rose has confirmed the news to us and that she is very excited to begin work on the new project!
Inspired by Poe’s imaginative short story, this independent film brings mystery, romance, and suspense to the literary classic. Production on The Tell Tale Heart begins October 20 and will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana. The picture will be directed by John La Tier while Daniel Zirilli will act as the producer.
“It was always our intention to stay true to Poe,” says La Tier. “We want this film to be something he would be proud of, and I believe this captivating script, combined with this cast and art direction, is going to be just that.”
Lifetime is set to premiere the original movie The Pastor’s Wife, starring Rose McGowan and Michael Shanks in a film about the shotgun slaying of a small town minister and revelations of his dark secrets involving sex, lies and betrayal — shocking his God-fearing community and changing it forever.
The Pastor’s Wife will debut on Saturday, November 5, at 8 pm ET/PT. Based on a true story that made national headlines, The Pastor’s Wife centers on the 2006 death of Matthew Winkler (Shanks), a beloved minister and community leader who was mysteriously shot and killed in his Selmer, Tennessee, home. During their investigation, the authorities soon zero in on Matthew’s wife, Mary (McGowan), as the crime’s prime suspect.
But why would Mary, a dutiful preacher’s wife and young mother of three girls, kill her husband? During her trial, shocking secrets about her relationship with Matthew are exposed, answering the disturbing questions many are asking about what really went on behind the closed doors of this “perfect family.”
Based on the non-fiction book by Dianne Fanning, The Pastor’s Wife is produced by Preacher Road Productions Ltd. and Front Street Pictures, with Gerald W. Abrams (Nuremburg, Four Minutes), Mike Moran, Juliet Smith and Harvey Kahn (Girl Fight) executive producing. Norma Bailey (Too Late to Say Goodbye) directs a screenplay written by Robert L. Freedman (Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows).

The trailer for Rosewood Lane has debuted at ShockTillYouDrop.com.
Rose McGowan plays radio talk show therapist, Sonny Blake, who moves back to her childhood home after her alcoholic father dies. Upon her return to the old neighborhood, Sonny discovers her neighbors are terrified of the local paperboy.
Ray Wise, Lin Shaye, Ashton Moio, Lesley-Anne Down and Rance Howard also star. The movie was directed by Victor Salva (Jeepers Creepers, Powder).
According to TV Guide, Rose McGowan has a super awesome new television gig coming up; she will act as one of the celebrity judges for the upcoming season of RuPaul’s Drag Race! When season 4 of the competition show – which pits drag queens against each other – kicks off on Logo in January 2012, Rose, along side Jennifer Love Hewitt, Loretta Devine, Kelly Osbourne, Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Glee‘s Amber Riley, will be sitting pretty at the judging table.
“This show does something very special for the gay community,” explains Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “There’s a message hidden inside the totally gaudy package that is so fun to watch. It’s all about loving and accepting yourself, and every season I’m surprisingly moved by it.”
I think this will be a total riot and such a fun project for Rose! Can’t wait!
