Welcome to version eight of Rose-McGowan.com!
Looking forward to Rose’s 40th birthday next month, we have launched a brand new version of our website! We not only have a superfabulous new layout designed by Mycah but together with Dale and Laura we have collectively updated the large majority of the site’s content as well.
A friendly reminder that our Birthday Project deadline is fast approaching – but there’s still time for you to participate! Please consider donating to our Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis fundraiser (we have raised over $200 thus far!) and sending in your birthday message and/or fan art for the appreciation booklet. All contributions are much appreciated!
Also, we wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support. We hope you enjoy the new version of our website!
On behalf of all the fans, we’d like to say congratulations to the lovely couple on the happy news!
This September marks a momentous milestone for our favorite leading lady Rose McGowan – her 40th birthday!
We feel that for this special birthday, Rose deserves an extra-special gift to mark the occasion. Here at Rose-McGwan.com, we will be honoring Rose by raising funds for a cause very close to her heart and by compiling a unique booklet consisting of your fan art and birthday messages. Please read on for details on how to contribute!
After having tragically lost her father, artist Daniel McGowan, to Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2008, Rose has been working tirelessly to raise global awareness about the debilitating disease. As an Ambassador for The Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis (CPF) and the Chair of the Daughters of PF, Rose’s personal mission has been to inform as many people as possible about the symptoms of the disease, raising awareness in an effort to eventually find a cure.
We at Rose-McGowan.com are working together with the CPF to raise funds in Rose’s honor, as a birthday gift for her this year. With Rose having positively affected so many peoples’ lives throughout the world, let’s take this opportunity to give something back this year!
You may donate through our FirstGiving fundraising page. Please donate any funds you can, large or small, and we can all work together to truly make this a birthday to remember!
Fan Art & Appreciation Booklet
We’ve also decided to compile a unique Fan Art & Appreciation booklet as a souvenir for Rose from the staff and visitors of Rose-McGowan.com, to accompany your donations to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis. To get an idea of this, you can read up and view photos of our 2009 birthday scrapbook, which was a great success.
What we’re needing from you, is to email us some of your drawings and artworks with an accompanying brief description of each one, why you did the artwork and how, as well as a brief birthday message to Rose herself to go along with the donations to CPF.
Artworks can obviously feature Rose; perhaps drawings of her Bostons (and Sasquatch!); maybe even something sentimental that Rose herself is a fan of – we all know she has a penchant for Old Hollywood stars – just an idea! So send along a birthday message/poem, maybe even a photograph of yourself with some of your Rose memorabilia – whatever you think she will appreciate, so she knows just how much respect, love and support we have for her and her work!
All entries must include your name, and where you are from as these will be included in the booklet as well.
The book will be delivered to Rose in September, so rest-assured that the lady herself will get to see all of your beautiful artworks and messages.
A list of those who have donated will be given pride of place at the very beginning of the booklet, so Rose will see exactly who has participated in the donation drive. If you donated and are on Twitter, you may include your Twitter handle as well.
Please send along all artwork and accompanying messages to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject: ROSE-McGOWAN.COM BIRTHDAY BOOK. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2013!
Remember to be creative and have fun!
Now, let’s show Rose that we really mean HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY!
Rose McGowan leads a “charmed life,” but she’s far from your typical A-list star.
The 39-year-old opened up to omg! in a candid interview over a couple glasses of Apothic Rosé wine at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City and dished about everything from redecorating homes to her obsession with pasta and Taco Bell.
No joke: she can recite her Taco Bell take-out order on command – “Taco Fresca and Bean and Cheese Burrito, no onions, add sour cream, two dollars and 46 cents at the window, thank you” – and enjoy a couple glasses of wine on a Friday night, just like the next girl.
Since we’re toasting with wine, you obviously like to drink it, right?
Rosé is actually primarily what I do drink. I’ll drink it all season, so what’s great about this Apothic Rosé, is that it’s cool that they’re calling it after me – just kidding – but it’s a limited edition… so it makes it kind of extra special.
Are you a two-glass wine girl?
I’m a two-glass girl.
After two glasses, there’s a chance that one makes bad decisions…
Well, after two glasses, then there’s another decision. If you get to the third glass, then you have a bad decision of getting to the next glass, and then you have a bad, bad day the next day. I get hung over really easily.
Have you ever made a bad decision after drinking wine?
I’ve noticed that my IQ goes down about 10 to 15 points with each glass of wine. So if we go past two, yeah. I think everyone’s kissed somebody that you really regret, right? Then you see them the next day or, for me, get a photo with someone, and you’re like, what was I thinking? Oh my god. That’s definitely [the worst]. I don’t have beer goggles, but you can have wine goggles. I’m not a beer girl.
Another spin on the classic and truly twisted Edgar Allan Poe tale The Tell Tale Heart will be causing a stir at this year’s Cannes Film Market.
From the press release:
Darclight Films, the edgy genre-driven label of Arclight Films, announces the acquisition and release of first-look footage of John La Tier’s inspired directorial debut The Tell Tale Heart starring Rose McGowan (Grindhouse, TVs Charmed, Jawbreaker, Scream), Peter Bogdanovich (The Sopranos, Humboldt County, Festival In Cannes, TVs “The Simpsons“) and Patrick John Flueger (Footloose, Brothers, TVs “The 4400“). Based on the classic short story of the same name penned by Edgar Allan Poe, America’s first master of horror over 150 years ago, La Tier, who also co-wrote the script, transplants the gloomy Gothic story into vibrant and enchanting modern day New Orleans. Darclight Films will be sharing never-before-seen footage in Cannes.
“We’re thrilled to present The Tell Tale Heart to buyers for the very first time, and Cannes is the perfect place to do so,” said Clay Epstein, VP of Sales and Acquisitions for Arclight Films, who secured the deal. “It’s one of Edgar Allan Poe’s most well known stories, and only a few others have been translated into as many languages worldwide as The Tell Tale Heart. The combination of the incredibly talented team of cast and crew that have come together to give new life to a truly classic and horrifying tale and a built-in global audience give the film outstanding commercial viability.”
