The role of Rose McGowan as Charlie truly looks like nothing we’ve seen from her! We’re very excited to see this performance! Dead Awake will be released in select theaters on December 3, 2010 before its DVD release in North America on January 18, 2011.

The gallery has been updated with more of the latest pictures of Rose from last week. I was out of town, and Riikka is very busy herself, so we’re catching up now. Anyways, this update includes pictures of Rose looking awesome in her Halloween costume, more shots from the Decades Denim Launch Party (and candids of her prior to the event). Finally, Rose attended The Theory Event Benefitting Communities In Schools Supported by Grey Goose last Thursday. She looked stunning in a white dress. There were also some candids of her after that event as well. Enjoy all the new additions!

According to Boston.com, The Bell Jar, to be directed by Nicole Kassell (The Woodsman), has some exciting new talent attached to it, including as Lauren Ambrose, Topher Grace and Virginia Madsen. It seems the movie might go into production next year. Here’s to hoping!
Julia Stiles’s long-gestating Bell Jar movie seems to be inching forward. Screenwriter Tristine Skyler reports that director Nicole Kassell and actors Lauren Ambrose, Topher Grace, Rose McGowan, and Virginia Madsen have been attached to the project, as they say in Hollywood. Shooting could start next year. If you’ve forgotten what Julia Stiles looks like, you should be watching Dexter, the greatest show on television.
Plath hasn’t been boffo box office in the past. There was a ghastly 1979 Bell Jar movie, which my late neighbor, Dr. Jane Anderson, successfully sued for defamation. Gwyneth Paltrow played Plath in a generally panned BBC movie, Sylvia. Quoth the irrepressible Daily Mail: “The only good review came from the New Yorker, the literary magazine famous for contributing to Plath’s chronic depression by rejecting most of her work.’’
Miss McGowan looked foxy rocking a pair of jeans and knee-high boots whilst attending the Decades Denim Launch Party in Los Angeles on November 2. Photos from the event are now available in the gallery.
Speaking of, please click here to view all of the new additions that I’ve uploaded in the gallery in the past week or so, which I’ve been too busy to make a proper update about, unfortunately.

Lionsgate has picked a release date for Marcus Nispel’s reimagining of Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian in 3D a.k.a. Conan 3D, and that date is August 19, 2011, which means it will be facing two other 3D movies, Fright Night 3D and Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World.
The film stars relative newcomer Jason Momoa in the title role as the mythical warrior with the cast rounded out by Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, Said Taghmaoui and Rose McGowan.

According to Fangoria, Dead Awake will be released in select theaters on December 3, 2010 before its DVD release in North America on January 18, 2011.
Nick Stahl, who stars in last week’s DVD/Blu-ray sequel Mirrors 2 and just opened in limited release in the dramatic thriller Kalamity, has a more supernaturally oriented big-screen indie coming out in a little over a month. It’s Dead Awake, co-starring Rose McGowan and Amy Smart and filmed under the title Dylan’s Wake.
Fango got the word that New Films Cinema, which released Chain Letter this past month, will send Dead Awake to select theaters December 3. Stahl stars as Dylan, a funeral parlor worker troubled by tragic events in his past who decides to fake his own funeral to see who will attend. The only ones to show up are his old high-school girlfriend Natalie (Smart) and a junkie named Charlie (McGowan), and the trio soon become caught up in occult developments. Directed by Omar Naim, the movie was written by Johnny Harrington, Justin Urich and David Boivin and shot by Saw series cinematographer David A. Armstrong. On the 3rd, Dead Awake will compete with a pair of buzz-building genre films, Fox Searchlight’s Black Swan and Oscilloscope’s Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale; it hits DVD and Blu-ray from First Look on March 29 of next year.
Another video which features Rose McGowan promoting Drybar has surfaced, this time via TV Guide. She looks so pretty and is clearly very excited about this project!
Thanks to Blake for the heads up on the video!
