Project Spotlight

Dawn (2013, short, drama)
Directed by Rose McGowan
Starring Tara Barr, Reiley McClendon and Hannah Marks

"I just finished my first piece for RSA Black Dog, which is Ridley Scott's commercial music video company. I directed a 20-minute short with amazing actors. It was a really amazing project to do, and I felt really comfortable doing it, more so than I ever have acting."

'Red Sonja' Articles
Article written on September 11, 2009 by Riikkae-mail

At this time last year, Rose McGowan told us how excited she was to be kicking butt and working under the direction of her fiancé Robert Rodriguez in the she-devil comic book adaptation Red Sonja, but it turns out a serious injury has brought the production to a standstill.

“I had wrist and elbow surgery and they took part of my elbow out. I had really bad nerve damage from doing stunts – I do a lot of my own stunts,” McGowan recently told Tarts. “I could no longer use my arm, but now I can hold a fork and drive so we’re working our way up. It’ll probably be another six months of rehab, but it’s the price you pay for being really limber and being able to do back flips!”

'Dead Awake'
Article written on August 28, 2009 by Riikkae-mail

I know we’re all curious about Rose’s new film, Dylan’s Wake. Here is some details, courtesy of DesmoinesRegister.com. No word yet on which role Rose is actually playing.

AriesWorks Entertainment is accepting  actor submissions for Dylan’s Wake, an LA-based SAG feature film. The film begins shooting in Iowa August 31. It is produced by Lucas Jarach and directed by Omar Naim. Six leading roles are TBA and not included in the regional casting call.

12 speaking roles (including supporting roles),15 featured extras and up to 150 extras are available for regional casting.

Story line: Dylan’s Wake (think: Jacob’s Ladder meets Good Will Hunting) is the story of a young man who fakes his own death to see if anyone will show up at his funeral. Two people show up – a street junkie who believes our protagonist is an angel who has come to save his life, and his High School sweetheart from ten years before. Their lives will be changed forever in this supernatural film about friendship, romance and redemption.

Nip/Tuck will start cutting again in mid-October. That news comes courtesy of the FX executive session at the Television Critics Association press tour on Friday (Aug. 7). Nip/Tuck will open its sixth season on Wednesday, Oct. 14 and run for 10 episodes, which will take the show into December; the final nine episodes will likely air sometime next year. (FX had previously said the show would be back in October but hadn’t set a specific date.)

With an absolutely stunning photograph Rose McGowan is featured on the cover of Bloomingdale’s new catalog. Read on for further details on the new campaign.

For decades, Hollywood has featured Bloomingdale’s in films like Moscow on the Hudson, Splash and The Mirror Has Two Faces. Now, Bloomingdale’s is returning the favor.

Bloomingdale’s, a division of Macy’s Inc., is celebrating the movies in the 2009 version of a major promotion staged each fall. The campaign, intended to stimulate demand during an important shopping season, is called “Lights, Camera, Fashion” and is being billed as the most elaborate since Bloomingdale’s began a series of themed fall promotions several years ago that has included art and music.

The campaign includes “Bflix,” five shorts that Bloomingdale’s commissioned through an organization called Young Indies Films, created by up-and-coming writers and directors. The shorts will be shown in viewing lounges to be set up in Bloomingdale’s stores as well as on its Web site (bloomingdales.com).
