Click here to read a brand new interview with Rose from Geek.com, in which she discusses the Terminator Salvation game.
I had been shooting a whole week of nights being killed and dragged through the dirt and I went straight from there in the early morning to Nevada to campaign for Obama at about 10 gay clubs in a row and then I flew in to do this at 6 a.m. So it was basically many nights of no sleep — being killed, Obama and gays and then Terminator. One natural progression.

Read on for Rose’s fabulous blog entry over at VanityFair.com, in which she talks about the gays in her life.
Rose McGowan, the luminous star of Grindhouse, is kicking off a new VF Daily feature where notables shout out the names of their most fabulous friends. The term “My Gays” has been popularized by comedian Kathy Griffin and some may find it offensive or demeaning. They may challenge, “Would you do a column singling out another minority and call it, for example, ‘My Jews’?” The answer is no. Because Jews, in general, are not that fabulous (you know, except for the gay ones). We hope that clears everything up. -Nell Scovell
I went to 10 schools in 11 years. In each one, the outcasts and I would bond. Looking back, these were my early gays. When I was 13, I was a runaway and I fell in with drag queens in Portland, Oregon. I’d stay up with them all night, dancing and going to clubs. They’d dress me up in old men’s suits from the Salvation Army and taught me the art of fantastical make-up. I was so much cooler back then. Even today, make-up artists compliment me and say, “Girl, you can paint!” And I always tell them: I learned from the best.
Every single one of these people is hilarious and offers unconditional love. Straight men could learn a lot from them. They’re not searching for any hidden meaning. Oh, and all of my friends love my karaoke machine. We’ve spent many a ridiculous night on the mic.”

Rosie O’Donnell, wearing a skirt with ankle-high Doc Martens, was nearby answering reporters’ questions, which ranged from her thoughts on Donald Trump’s finances (“I have no thoughts about it”), Madonna’s new boyfriend (“she should make herself happy and it looks like she does”), and Michelle Obama’s sleeveless dresses (“she should be sleeveless all the time!”).
She exclaimed: “And look, Rose McGowan is here!”
Ms. McGowan recently had elbow surgery and was still recovering. “I can’t even hold a fork right now, so I have to keep doing my physical therapy and work up to my sword,” she said. (Ms. McGowan is working on the film Red Sonja, about red-haired comic book hero who carries a sword.)
Then, prompted by another round of the theater’s lights, the actress said “Oh, I guess really do have to go in,” and teetered on inside.

I think it is insane how Jessica Simpson’s figure has suddenly become the talk of the town. Is there really nothing more interesting or important to talk about? Rose was asked about it and you can read her comment, courtesy of AceShowBiz.com:
Nick Lachey is joining the likes of Ashlee Simpson, Kim Kardashian, and Pete Wentz who have all stood by Jessica Simpson over her weight scandal. In the meantime, Jessica keeps receiving support and sentiments from a number of fellow celebs, naming some are Paula Abdul, Rose McGowan and Jordana Brewster.
Rose, meanwhile, says, “It’s sad because you see a lot of male actors who gain a lot of weight in between roles. The reality is, if I went and gained 30 pounds in between roles, I wouldn’t get roles. I think that’s sexism, and it drives me crazy!”
We think it is fair to say that 2008 has not been the best year for Rose, professionally speaking. Many of her projects have been delayed, there has not been any major releases and the nasty gossip continues. However, she did co-host The Essentials and her private life seems to be in bloom as she recently announced her engagement to Robert Rodriguez.
This compilation of 2008 highlights is by the Rose-McGowan.com staff. Please feel free to post your own choices at the forum.

• Best news:
Both agree: The engagement of Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez – if Rose is happy, then so are we! We love the idea of Rose co-hosting The Essentials, even if we did not get to see any of it. Also, the announcement of Red Sonja was certainly exciting.
• Worst news:
Both agree: The passing of Rose’s beloved Fester. All of us fans know how much he meant to Rose. We also hate to see so many of Rose’s projects post-poned and how about the IRA comment and the aftermath? We still shudder to think of it all.
• Favorite magazine cover:
There was not really any covers this year.
