Dawn (2013, short, drama)
Directed by Rose McGowan Starring Tara Barr, Reiley McClendon and Hannah Marks
"I just finished my first piece for RSA Black Dog, which is Ridley Scott's commercial music video company. I directed a 20-minute short with amazing actors. It was a really amazing project to do, and I felt really comfortable doing it, more so than I ever have acting."
In honor of Rose McGowan’s 39th birthday, the gallery has been updated with glorious Blu-ray screencaptures of one of Rose’s more recent movies, Dead Awake. Rose plays Charlie in the Omar Naim directed film, a character who is, in Rose’s own words, “a semi-homeless crackhead who I think is half cracked and half schizophrenic.” A different type of a role for our lady, that is for sure!
On the second of the Rose McGowan Birthday Week, Rose-McGowan.com brings you screencaptures from Still Screaming: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective, a Scream documentary that was produced in the wake of the release of Scream 4 in 2011. In the documentary Rose discusses her experience of filming Scream and the iconic role of Tatum Riley. The documentary also includes rare stills and behind the scenes images – and a multitude of adorable Rose faces and fun filming stories!
Our favorite leading lady, Miss Rose McGowan, celebrates her 39th birthday this week! As part of the birthday celebrations, Rose-McGowan.com will be updated with exciting new goodies every day this week.
We’re kicking off the birthday week with Blu-ray screencaptures of one of Rose’s very first roles; Nora in Encino Man (1992). Perhaps not one of Rose’s proudest on screen moments but hey, we all need to start somewhere! I think the film is worth watching to see Rose as a teenager. A cute little flashback to the beginning of her career, I’d say!
I have replaced our old DVD screencaps of Rose McGowan in The Black Dahlia with brand spankin’ crisp and gorgeous Blu-ray ones. Just have a look at the stunning quality of these, it really is quite something! Expect more Blu-ray quality screencaptures in the near future. If there is a specific film that you’d like to see screencaptured next, don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments.
Did you know that Brian De Palma handpicked Rose for the role of Sheryl Saddon? The role is more of a cameo but it is quite a gem as McGowan is as magnetic and funny as ever as the aspiring actress with a bite!
Rose McGowan attended the 8th Annual Johnny Ramone Tribute at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary yesterday (August 19, 2012) in Hollywood, California. She posed for photos together with friends Henry Rollins, Linda Ramone and Tommy Ramone. Net proceeds from the event benefit the Johnny Ramone Research fund at USC Westside Prostate Cancer Center, lead by Dr. David Agus.
First photos from the event are now available in the gallery for your viewing pleasure.
The gallery has been updated with the freshly released The Tell-Tale Heart poster and a handful of images from the set of the film, which is set for a 2013 debut.
Director John LaTier had this to say about the film and poster: “We hope the release of this poster will delight our fans, who have been patiently waiting for updates and a trailer from our film. We are in post production now, and though I cannot give away too many details yet, this poster and sweepstakes are leading up to a bigger announcement in just a few short weeks.”
In addition to the poster, the film is also holding a sweepstakes for a chance to have comic book illustrator Rob Prior (Marvel, D.C., Image Comics) immortalize the lucky winner as a background character in some accompanying concept art. To enter, head to the The Tell-Tale HeartFacebook page.
Did you know that all the way back in 1989 Rose McGowan made her first silver screen appearance? That’s right! In Seattle, a 16-year old Rose was an extra in a horror film called Class of 1999, which was consequently released in 1990. She has no actual lines but does appear in the background of a handful of scenes. Regardless, this has been an exciting find for us McGowaniacs and we are now able to bring you screencaptures of Rose’s cameo appearance. You may have to look hard to spot her in some of those scenes – but it’s worth it!
The film is available on DVD on Amazon if you’re interested in purchasing a copy.
They think I’m crazy. I would rather die than to be like them.
Miss McGowan looks super glamorous on the front cover of the Summer 2012 issue of French magazine Citizen K – this marks Rose’s major magazine appearance of the year! We’ve added some preview scans in the gallery, courtesy of Claire. Stay tuned for high quality versions once we get our hands on the magazine.
The gallery has been updated with some truly gorgeous photoshoots featuring Rose McGowan; two sets from 2012 and one from the late 90s. Many thanks to our lovely forum members Laura and Blake for sharing these goodies with us, as always!
The music video for RAC’s Hollywood, featuring an awesome cameo by Rose McGowan, has been released. Directed by Ryan Reichenfeld and shot in Los Angeles, the video tells the story of an 1850s cowboy and his horse as they experience and explore modern day LA. The cowboy, completely out of his element, longs for something familiar – and he might just find it in the end.
Be sure to check out the Hollywood music video over at McGowan Media. Hint: Rose appears towards the end of the video.
