Project Spotlight

Dawn (2013, short, drama)
Directed by Rose McGowan
Starring Tara Barr, Reiley McClendon and Hannah Marks

"I just finished my first piece for RSA Black Dog, which is Ridley Scott's commercial music video company. I directed a 20-minute short with amazing actors. It was a really amazing project to do, and I felt really comfortable doing it, more so than I ever have acting."

Yesterday Miss McGowan attended the opening night of Oleanna at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. Oleanna is a play that stars Rose’s The Bell Jar co-star Julia Stiles. Rose looks positively glowing in her little black dress.

I would have had these up sooner but our gallery was not loading for me. But anyways, I have added screencaps from the E3 special (note: the last few minutes did not play properly for me so I will recap those scenes when I find a clean download). Rose guest hosted this show which featured sneak peeks at upcoming video games.

You can watch the show in HD on if you missed it.

I have added more pictures from the Burberry event. Many thanks to Rob Madden on the forum for many of the images.

It seems Rose experienced a couple of fashion disasters on the red carpet as some of you probably noticed. One was that her suit top became exposed briefly which revealed her bra (but Rose quickly covered it up! 😉 ) and if you’ve wondered why she isn’t wearing earrings in some of the pictures, Rose told JustJared: “I immediately got a blob of pink lipstick on my lovely satin lapel. So yes, now my earrings serve as a brooch. Let’s not tell Burberry!”

McGowan also shared what she did for Memorial Weekend: “Believe it or not, I slept all day long on my couch in my [body-length blanket] Snuggie. Now, I bought the Snuggie as a joke, but that thing is serious business. It will take you down! I watched 20 episodes of Golden Girls! But I was very, very sad [when Bea Arthur died]. Although Rose and Blanche are my favorite, Bea was the glue.”

Yesterday evening Rose attended the “Burberry Day” event at the The New York Palace Hotel. Miss McGowan wore a sleek white pant suit and looked really sophisticated and gorgeous. I have added the first images to become available.

Rose McGowan to the Observer this about the event:

“I love New York but I hate gray weather, It makes me want to cry and sleep. Even though I don’t tan, I like the bright lights. Tonight, though, with how this looks, the word ‘Gotham’ is perfect. It’s a perfect description. It literally looks like Batman should be sweeping off one of these buildings. That’s awesome, and that’s a great thing about New York.” – Rose McGowan

And if you’re wondering why Rose isn’t wearing earrings in some of the pictures, here’s the explanation of her mini fashion disaster. “I immediately got a blob of pink lipstick on my lovely satin lapel,” Rose shared. “So yes, now my earrings serve as a brooch. Let’s not tell Burberry!”

Rose McGowan turned up for the premiere of Terminator Salvation yesterday in Los Angeles, looking very cute in a short, green frilly number. She, of course, voices the character Angie Salter in the Terminator Salvation video game. It is really nice to see her attending a big Hollywood premiere for the first time in a long time. Almost 100 pictures are available in the gallery.

Yesterday Rose McGowan attended An Evening With Women Celebrating Art, Music, & Equality in Beverly Hills, California. She looked nothing short of breathtaking in a short, flirty dress and golden accessories. As you may have noticed, Rose has also been sporting a shorter hairdo, which in my opinion looks real cute on her. Personally, I just adore this look of hers and it definitely marks my favorite of 2009! Enjoy the photos!

In case you missed the images in the gallery, the gorgeous Miss Rose attended the Bryan Rabin, Kelly Cole and Ian Cripps Present Diamond Dogs event in Hollywood on April 9. It looks like she had a great time! We’ve added three images in the gallery.

I’ve also caught up in the latest candids so you can now find a handful of new sets of Rose out and about in the Los Angeles area in these past couple of weeks. Please note that we do not add images in which Rose looks visibly upset, or any that clearly invade her privacy.

Rose McGowan turned out with a variety of celebrities at the Los Angeles premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor to pay tribute to fashion designer Valentino Garavani. Rose opted for a beautiful little black puffball dress. This may actually be one of my recent favorite looks of hers – she looks gorgeous! 36 pictures are now available in the gallery. Enjoy!

Read on for Rose’s fabulous blog entry over at, in which she talks about the gays in her life.

Rose McGowan, the luminous star of Grindhouse, is kicking off a new VF Daily feature where notables shout out the names of their most fabulous friends. The term “My Gays” has been popularized by comedian Kathy Griffin and some may find it offensive or demeaning. They may challenge, “Would you do a column singling out another minority and call it, for example, ‘My Jews’?” The answer is no. Because Jews, in general, are not that fabulous (you know, except for the gay ones). We hope that clears everything up. -Nell Scovell

I went to 10 schools in 11 years. In each one, the outcasts and I would bond. Looking back, these were my early gays. When I was 13, I was a runaway and I fell in with drag queens in Portland, Oregon. I’d stay up with them all night, dancing and going to clubs. They’d dress me up in old men’s suits from the Salvation Army and taught me the art of fantastical make-up. I was so much cooler back then. Even today, make-up artists compliment me and say, “Girl, you can paint!” And I always tell them: I learned from the best.

Every single one of these people is hilarious and offers unconditional love. Straight men could learn a lot from them. They’re not searching for any hidden meaning. Oh, and all of my friends love my karaoke machine. We’ve spent many a ridiculous night on the mic.”
