Rose McGowan recently went platinum blonde for the first time ever, and to complete her hair makeover, she really needed to commit.
“All told, it took about 27 hours,” McGowan told InStyle.com at the Humane Society of the United States’ To The Rescue! New York benefit. “The first day alone was 14 hours,” The dye job was done by celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham—much loved by stars like Natalie Portman, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Drew Barrymore—and was inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer’s iconic locks in Scarface.
“I’ve just been in a little bit of a rebellious mood, what can I say?” McGowan said of her decision. ”It was a big transition.” Indeed!

Rose appeared on The Doctors earlier today to spread word about pulmonary fibrosis. Be sure to watch the video right below!
Actress Rose McGowan has had a long and successful career on both the small screen and the silver screen, but her biggest and most challenging role now is finding a cure for pulmonary fibrosis, a disease that claimed the life of her father. Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is an often-terminal scarring of the lungs that obstructs the flow of oxygen to the brain and other vital organs. With no known cause and no cure, Rose is now an ambassador for the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis (CPF), and is raising worldwide awareness of the deadly disease.
The Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis announced today that Rose McGowan will be a guest on Friday, December 14th on CBS TV’s The Doctors. She will share her tragic personal story of how she watched her father suffer and die from the incurable lung disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) and help raise awareness of the disease that kills as many Americans as breast cancer each year.
“Pulmonary Fibrosis is a horrible, horrible way to go,” said Rose. “It makes me quite angry that not a lot of people know about it. I want to help change that.”
