At last! Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’ B-movie double feature Grindhouse will finally be re-released in a special edition Blu-ray set this October! In an early announcement to retailers, Vivendi is working on Grindhouse: Special Edition for a Blu-ray release on October 5. Both Planet Terror and Death Proof have already been released on home video separately.

Specs and supplements haven’t been confirmed yet, but suggested list price for the 2-disc Blu-ray set is only $19.97.

As some of you may have noticed, I uploaded photos of Miss McGowan attending the Los Angeles Nomadic Division Benefit Gala earlier but didn’t have a chance to update about it until now. Rose looked gorgeous in her trademark little black dress and black pumps at the gala, which was held on July 15. LAND is a non-profit public art initiative committed to curating site- and situation-specific contemporary art projects, in Los Angeles and beyond. The trailer for Machete has been released and may be viewed under the cut. Rose McGowan’s character has a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance around 1.03 minutes into the trailer. So awesome to see some new material featuring Rose!

A bunch of new Machete posters have also been released, which I’ve uploaded in the gallery. None of them feature Rose, though, but perhaps our Cherry will get her own poster shortly – here’s to hoping!

Our forum member blake_6060 has some inside scoop on Dylan’s Wake straight from First Look Studios. The film has been retitled and now goes by the name of Dead Awake. According to the studio, the film will go straight to DVD and is eyeing a November 2 release date. Look out for an official website around the end of August and for a trailer in September or October. While I am disappointed that the project will not be released in the cinemas, I’m glad that at least we’ll get to see it in November.

My beloved lil’ girl Boston terrier, Bug McGowan, died yesterday. I am shattered. Don’t know life without her.

Rose posted this heart-wrenching note on her Twitter today, sharing the sad news of the passing of her beloved Boston Terrier called Bug. Rose and Bug spent 14 wonderful years together before the pup’s passing on June 22, 2010. Our heartfelt condolences and sympathies go out to Rose during this difficult time. We’re so sorry for your loss!

Please feel free to leave your condolences to Rose on this post and we’ll see to it that she’ll get them.
