Screen Daily is reporting that Victor Salva will direct Rose McGowan in Voltage horror Rosewood Lane. Rose will star in the Jeepers Creepers director’s new nightmare which Voltage is financing and introducing to EFM buyers this week. Here’s more details regarding the project, courtesy of Shock Till You Drop circa 2009:
You now have a new place to fear: Rosewood Lane.
Victor Salva with write and direct the horror-thriller beginning early next year. He’ll co-produce with Don E. FauntLeRoy.
Gina Phillips [perhaps now Rose's role?] leads the cast as a radio talk show therapist who moves back to her childhood home when her alcoholic father dies. But upon arrival, she discovers the neighborhood is terrified of the local paperboy.
She thinks this is ridiculous, until she encounters the boy himself, and learns the hard way, that he is a cunning and dangerous sociopath, who may have killed her father and even others. When he starts to exhibit abnormal abilities, she starts to doubt her own sanity and the boy begins waging a war of terror on her.
Ray Wise is also locked to star.
Of Rosewood Lane, Salva describes the film “as a jump-out-of-your-seat thriller in the tradition of my favorite terror in suburbia film: John Carpenter’s Halloween.”
Jeepers Creepers‘ Brian Penikas is on FX duties.
It’s true The producer confirmed it
“Rosewood Lane has been a pet project of mine for years now and what I have always regarded as one of my most terrifying stories,” Salva said. “To see it finally come to life is wonderful.”
Producer Phillip B Goldfine: “Rose fully embodies the lead character and with her strong cult following I can see audiences as they enjoy watching the horrific experiences her character goes through.”
