Project Spotlight

Dawn (2013, short, drama)
Directed by Rose McGowan
Starring Tara Barr, Reiley McClendon and Hannah Marks

"I just finished my first piece for RSA Black Dog, which is Ridley Scott's commercial music video company. I directed a 20-minute short with amazing actors. It was a really amazing project to do, and I felt really comfortable doing it, more so than I ever have acting."

Yesterday Rose McGowan went to “Evening of 20th Century Glamour” Benefiting MOCA, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. She wore a sweeping orange vintage Loris Azzaro gown and accessorized with some red lipstick, golden necklace and matching heels. I’ve added a handful of images in the gallery. Hopefully more will surface soon.

'50 Dead Men Walking'
Article written on March 20, 2009 by Riikkae-mail

Fifty Dead Men Walking will be screened at the 9th Jameson Belfast Film Festival in Northern Ireland on April 4, 2009 at 7 PM. According to the the festival’s website, cast and crew will be in attendance at the screening. However, we have been told that Rose McGowan won’t be attending. Please visit BelfastFilmFestival.org for further details.

Based on the real life story of informer Martin McGartland.

Opening on a beautiful stretch of coastland somewhere in Canada, a dishevelled looking 30-year old Martin McGartland (Jim Sturgess) walks towards his car and checks under the wheels for anything suspicious. He gets in and starts the engine. All seems well, until a gunman appears at the window and fires six bullets into him leaving him dying and covered in blood.

Fergus (Ben Kingsley), a British police officer, introduces us to Martin, who was an informant for the British Special Branch during the war in Northern Ireland. The story flashes back 11 years to Belfast 1988.

Martin is a young lad from West Belfast in the late 1980’s, recruited by the British Forces to spy on the IRA. He works his way up the ranks as a volunteer for the IRA whilst feeding information to his British handler, and saving lives in the process; until one day he is exposed, captured and tortured to within an inch of his life. He escaped dramatically by throwing himself from a tower block window and is still in hiding today.

'Red Sonja' Gallery
Article written on March 17, 2009 by Riikkae-mail

Having just finished listening to Robert Rodriguez and Henry Selick talk about their experiences making 3D films, I can’t very well be expected to write up a complete accounting so quickly. (A fellow has to eat – and see the next movie on his agenda – after all.) BUT I thought you might like to see a few snaps from the panel discussion as a kind of photo teaser.

The sequence shown here came towards the end of the proceeding, when one of the audience questioners asked if someone on the right-hand side of the auditorium cared to comment about the progress of the Red Sonja film.

(Curious, since this had nothing to do with the topic at hand.)

Well, a glimpse of the lady in pink who piped up to answer the question struck a familiar chord. She seemed oddly reminiscent of someone with a gun for a body part.
