The ever lovely Mariana sent in a video clip of a short interview Rose did earlier this year for Grindhouse press junkets, it was a brief TNT special that aired in her country. Although nothing entirely new, still very cute. You can download the video in the video vault and view caps at the link below.

The stunning Miss McGowan attended The Hollywood Reporter‘s Annual Key Art Awards yesterday. She presented the first Visionary Award to Planet Terror director Robert Rodriguez. Here’s an excerpt of an article from The Hollywood Reporter:
Robert Rodriguez received the first Visionary Award, which recognizes a filmmaker who inspires movie marketers to create work at an even higher level.
Rose McGowan presented him with the award. “Robert Rodriguez has defined classification and has inspired creativity in movie marketers around the world,” she said. “Tonight was an amazing night for movie marketing and the creative talent developing the brilliant promotional materials that bring audiences into the theater,” said John Kilcullen, publisher of The Hollywood Reporter. “The awards show was a great representation of the choices that we are faced with every week at the box office, and I’m thrilled that we were able to celebrate so many films and creative teams this evening.”

On June 9th Rose won the Femme Fatale award over Tricia Helfner for Grindhouse. Now, thanks to Michael, we have a clip of Rose’s speech! You can also view screencaps in the gallery.
“Thank you! Well… I wanna thank… Steven Hawking for inspiring me to think of outer realms and different universes where I could, infact, go from a little nerd who hid in the library to getting a kind of gold tinfoil… Antler. This is rad! Hi!”
“Also, I really actually need to thank Robert Rodriguez for making me the most bad ass girl. These antlers are really for him. [laughs] And its not really a fair fight because I think… I think a machine gun leg kind of a win anytime, you know. I am lock and loaded. And that is what I’m here to say. [laughs] In any case, thank you, thank you very much Spike Awards people and men all over the universe. You know who you are. Okay! Thank you!”

So much for a re-release of Dimension Films’ Grindhouse as it appears that Genius Entertainment and The Weinstein Co. will release Death Proof – Quentin Tarantino’s segment – on DVD September 18th, according to Davis DVD. No word yet on Robert Rodriguez’s Planet Terror, but this seems to confirm the rapid speculation that the theatrical double feature will be split up for the initial home video release. Death Proof is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer (Kurt Russell) pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife. No word on the features and if it’s the extended cut.

I, for one, am hugely upset they won’t release the films on DVD together. I guess it still could happen, I mean, collector’s editions and all, you never know what could happen but atleast we won’t know for a while.
